A quick guide to setting up the dashboard on your main computer and connecting Ubuntu mining rigs over your private network.

What you need

Use a Linux main computer for the always-on dashboard hub. Rigs need Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04, or 26.04, a working NVIDIA driver, and a network path to the main computer. Confirm the driver works with nvidia-smi before installing.

Keep the rigs on a trusted LAN or VLAN. Do not expose rig port 8787 to the public internet.

1 · Install the dashboard hub

On the main computer, clone the project and install its systemd user service:

git clone https://git.stiannor.info/StianNOR/DreamTeam---DashBoard.git
cd DreamTeam---DashBoard
python3 desktop/install_systemd.py --linger

Run the installer as your normal user, without sudo. Open http://127.0.0.1:8790/ on that computer and create your account the first time.

2 · Install a rig

In the dashboard, choose Add rig and copy the current verified install command shown there. Run it in a terminal on the rig. This keeps the download link and checksum matched to the installer release.

When setup finishes, copy the rig IP address and pairing key printed in the terminal. Keep the pairing key private.

3 · Pair it once

  1. In Add rig, enter a name for the rig.
  2. Enter the rig IP address and pairing key from its terminal.
  3. Use port 8787, then choose Pair rig.

The dashboard contacts the rig directly over your private network. No SSH tunnel is needed. The key is saved on the main computer for future connections.

4 · Run a miner

DreamTeam does not include or start a miner. Start your miner in a Screen session if you want it to keep running after you disconnect:

screen -S miner

Start the miner inside Screen, then press Ctrl+A followed by D to detach. DreamTeam shows hashrate only when the miner prints an output format it can read; a running session alone does not guarantee a reading.

5 · Manage GPU settings

Open a rig to see its GPUs, overclock settings, templates, and startup settings. Test GPU changes carefully before saving them. Use an all-GPU template only when it matches the installed GPU models and their limits.

After saving startup settings, check the rig's boot status. Avoid running another GPU tuning tool at the same time.

Updates

Updates are manual. On a rig, run dtupdate. On the main Linux computer, update the cloned project and restart the hub:

git pull --ff-only
systemctl --user restart dreamteam-hub.service

For the latest install command, release details, and uninstall instructions, see the DreamTeam repository. This guide avoids pinned download hashes so it does not become stale when a new installer is released.

DreamTeam does not mine cryptocurrency by itself. It provides a dashboard for connected rigs and their GPU configuration.
